Training Up the Younger Generation

Yesterday we had the pleasure of “Take your Kid To Work Day!”. McKenna, who is the daughter of our design extraordinaire, Krystal, joined us for a day on the edge.

Her day started off with some heavy machinery as she shadowed Zak on a job site. After the heights and roof were conquered, she set off to visit our friends and suppliers at Kodan Flooring.

A day on the edge wouldn’t be complete without some power tools. McKenna joined Jeff at Home Hardware in Port Hope to scope out some new tools. Once the tools were bought, we took her to our favourite lunch spot at the Old Newcastle House Pub.

One of the great parts of having a younger girl join us for the day, is showing her how open her opportunities are! We are so proud to have strong female team members in all fields, from design to construction. Here is McKenna visiting a current addition project in Rice Lake with our designer (and McKenna’s Mom) Krystal, and one of our carpenters, Ashlea.

The last stop on McKenna’s trip was visiting one of our favorite clients! She came with us to visit Lisa, from Link Greenhouses (where all our yummy veg comes from) IMG_2047 (1)

We were so incredibly happy to have her join us for the day! McKenna is such a helpful and friendly young lady (She got it from her mama!) and we always enjoy training up the younger generations. From students, to apprentices, to placements and tours, we are happy to offer an inside look at what happens on the edge. Do feel free to contact us if you are interested in our placement program or apprenticing!

Check out how great this girl is! She even made us a cake!
