Happy Summer Edgers! What better way than to kick it off with the sweet sound of builders with their hammers? With our love of all things building and our fabulous home of Durham region, we are very pleased to announce a great project! This year there will be a spectacular new event called Durham Festival! It will be 3 days of Culture, Creativity and Fun across Durham region, and it will highlight all the reasons we love our community! Today was the official launch party for the event.
“A special announcement was made, stating that the Durham Festival is going to challenge an exciting world record. On Aug. 15 at Victoria Fields in Whitby, the Durham Harvest Picnic event will be taking place, at which the world record for the Longest Picnic Table in the world will be challenged. The table is being built to accommodate more than 500 people, and everyone is invited to attend with their lunch to participate in this historic event, with registration beginning at 11 a.m. Food will also be available for purchase from local vendors. After the event, the table will be dismantled and all components will be donated to Habitat for Humanity Durham for a Durham Region home building project.” – Explore Durham
GUESS WHOSE DESIGNING THIS?!
The OTE Construction team is happily planning the design and construction of this record challenging table! We will be instructing volunteers from Habitat for Humanity on the assembly steps.
