Our Favourite Spots

Well Edgers, here it is.

Lately, we have been thinking about our favourite spots to shop, find decor, inspiration and great pieces of furniture. These spots have proven to be great places to spend a day, have lunch and come away refreshed and inspired.

The Distillery District, Toronto, ON

The Distillery District is a place very special to our OTE family. It is the very place we took inspiration for the OTE Home, we spent days looking at the architecture and the brick work and finding that happy place that said “industrial yet cozy”.

“An internationally acclaimed pedestrian-only village, The Distillery features more than 70 ground-floor cultural and retail establishments in the restored red brick, Victorian-era buildings of the renowned Gooderham & Worts whiskey distillery”

A must visit place for all lovers of brick, industrial flare and one of a kind shops. www.thedistillerydistrict.com/

Port Hope, ON

Port Hope is an adorable place for an afternoon of small boutique shopping and delicious patio lunches. Filled with locally owned shops and bed & breakfasts, it is the very best of southern Ontario charm. We have had many business lunches and tons of personal shopping trips in this sweet lakeside community.

“Port Hope is a heritage community situated on the north shore of Lake Ontario and offers both an urban and rural paradise with the perfect combination of heritage charm, modern vibrancy and cultural allure. The Ganaraska River runs through the heart of town past historic buildings and there are miles of waterfront trails, a sandy beach, heritage conservation district downtown, quaint villages and scenic country driving routes.”

Liberty Village, Toronto, ON

Liberty Village as a whole is just bursting with inspiration. It has some of our favourite home decor and art galleries, not to mention some brilliant spots to eat.

“There is a gritty, urban feel and a unique vibrancy to Liberty Village, which emanates from the red brick Victorian industrial architecture that dominates the streetscape. The tall chimney smoke stacks that project from some of these old buildings serve as neighbourhood landmarks.”

Oakville-Ontario-Downtown

Downtown Oakville, ON

Downtown Oakville is one of our more modest choices for inspiration. BUT they have spectacular restaurants, and tons of parks and marinas along the Lakeshore. If you love nautical excursions and ice cream, I’d highly recommend a summertime stroll down here. With stores like House Warmings and Anthropologie, your bound to find some home inspiration as well.

“Downtown Oakville a vibrant shopping and cultural district, recognized for its extensive retail mix, professional business services and exceptional dining!”
