Whether you live in a downtown apartment, basement, dorm, townhouse or any other smaller spaces there is one thing I am sure you battle with. Can you guess what that is? I assume that you have read the title of this blog so hopefully you can put two and two together. No. I am not hinting to any self-esteem issues, you are beautiful. SPACE! Any of the above mentioned, will always feel small and as though you don’t have much space around.
There is something you can do to help that however. By simply hanging a mirror on a wall the reflection creates almost an optical illusion that the space extends past the wall it is hung. It’s a beautiful thing!
These pictures will hopefully demonstrate this for you:
You may not even have to hang the mirror. Just lean a larger one against the wall like the one above. So easy!
The dreaded closet mirrored doors.
Yes they look ugly, but when done right, like these ones they can actually work for your benefit when making the room look larger.
The perfect accent wall!
LOVE this antique mirror behind the cottage-vintage space here.
A mirror at the end of a hallway will make the hallway look so much longer and even wider believe it or not!
This bathroom with mirrors on each side of the corner really makes the illusion that the room goes on forever!
Okay, I realize the rooms in the photos are not exactly the smallest of spaces, but this is the kind of tip that you definitely need to see in person. So try it out! If you are one those who constantly battles the small space, add a mirror. The mirror will do wonders and really open up the room, plus now you have something to check out your beautiful self!
We hope you are enjoying this last bit of beautiful weather we are having.
