Since the last weekend of summer is upon us and school is about to begin, I thought it would be great to focus on the very thing all kids, teenagers, college students (and maybe you) will be diving into for the next months to come. BOOKS!
I know many people who over the years have collected a ton of books. Probably enough to fill an entire room in their house! I may be talking a tiny bit about myself. The problem is, I am a book collector at times. The ‘coffee table’ book tends to be my weakness. And yet, there is absolutely zero books on my coffee table. Figures.
Needless to say, this favourite pass-time to many people deserves its own spotlight. Therefore, today we will be talking about libraries! AKA ‘book room’, AKA ‘reading nook’, AKA ‘home library’. Whatever you would like to refer them to, they have one mission- housing books.
Here are some examples of some amazing (and unique!) libraries:
This home library is infused with an earthy-minimalistic style that seems a little ‘against the grain’. Normally minimalist tends to feel cold and empty but this room is anything but. It kind of makes you want to open up a book and snuggle next to that roarin’ fire, doesn’t it?
Why not display all of your books colour co-ordinated and organize them in rainbow order? Let that be your focal point!
The bookcase in this room was perfectly thought-out. The books almost seem to look like artwork because of the dark shelves that seem to fade into the background.
Here are a few super-unique shelving ideas we adore:
There is something so unique about this bookcase. The idea is simple- paint the shelves an accent colour. Yet just this small act has made a huge impact on this space. I love it!
This would be great for a kid’s room!
And now for the icing on the cake…
When the creator of this ‘book room’ heard the idea, they LITERALLY wanted a room made with books. Amazing!!
If you happen to be one of the students going back to school this year, we hope you got something from this post. Just maybe you now feel inspired to display your school books in a not-so-ordinary way.
Well friends, enjoy the last weekend of this summer. We hope that you have made the most of every moment of this wonderful weather (and hopefully vacation).
Next stop, FALL!
