Reminiscence of Art Deco

The Oscars were on this past Sunday and as I watched with my snacks in hand, one ‘look’ really stood out to me. 85th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Halle Berry’s dress was stunning with a gorgeous shape. I sat there during her 3 minute interview chatting about who she was wearing and what she did to get ready for the event, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of the Art Deco period.

This period of design was all about metals and geometry, symmetry and repetition. You can see many examples of Art Deco all around you. Take a look at these examples and I’m sure you will see what I mean:

Such a stunning dress for such a stunning lady, and what better time period for it to be inspired by than the Art Deco period; so much class.

I hope you enjoyed the Oscars!
